Louis Vuitton launches NFT game with artwork from Beeple
As part of a celebration marking its 200th anniversary, luxury brand Louis Vuitton is launching a video game that features illustrations by acclaimed NFT artist Mike ‘Beeple’ Winkelmann.
The French fashion house is known for its ultra-chic designs, as well as its collaborative approach to fashion. Having the habit of collaborating with artists and designers to constantly propel its brand in relevance, Louis Vuitton is not afraid to renovate its image, while always maintaining its recognizable brand image.
As the 200th anniversary approaches, the prestigious brand announced the launch of a game application “Louis: The Game” to celebrate the birthday of founder Louis Vuitton.
The NFT-based game contains historical and anecdotal stories from the life of the founders, with the game player setting out on a quest to reach a special destination.
As you would expect from a luxury brand, the artistic vision stands out, and having previously collaborated with Takashi Murkami, Yayoi Kusama and Stephen Sprouse, the brand has also included digital artist Beeple in its list of artists. collaborators.
Having previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton on the creation of prints inspired by existing works of art for the Spring-Summer 2019 women’s collection, Beeple produced prints as well as numerous videos for the windows of fashion brand stores.
Beeple’s contribution to the “Louis: The Game” app comes in the form of ten unique NFTs, out of a total of 30 NFTs that players can collect on their journey.
In 2019, Louis Vuitton partnered with League of Legends to design some of the character’s clothing, but the launch of “Louis: The Game” on August 4 will be the fashion house’s first direct venture into the NFT space.
