Art appreciation session a jubilant affair – South Coast Herald
On the last Tuesday of each month, local art club Art by the Sea hosts an Art Appreciation Session, where artists celebrate their artwork from the past month.
This is when their paintings are placed on the display easel for a positive review by their fellow artists – in itself a remarkable training session.
The June session was a jubilant affair, filled with poetry readings, delicious snacks and, above all, good humor and camaraderie.
The level of work, as well as the innovative styles on display, were exceptional.
If this session is any indication of what will be on display at the Club’s exhibition in August at the Margate Art Museum, art lovers on the Lower South Coast are in for a wonderful surprise.

Art by the Sea’s youngest member, Richard Archbell, poured his heart and soul into drawing his pet dog.
Newcomer to Art by the Sea, Nadia Hartman, wowed her fellow artists with her vividly colored landscape.
During Art by the Sea’s monthly art appreciation session, Henriette Storbeck proudly displays her painting.
